I don't really like doing those on-the-spot writing exercises and then reading out what is frankly utter gibberish. Somehow other people seem to be able to produce stuff that sounds like actual poetry. How do they do that? So that I didn't feel so completely embarrassed every time, I have to admit that I started recycling lines from old poems (shh!). I do like the part where we read and comment on others work and hear feedback on our own stuff.
Peter and Ann read that evening in Brighton, with Mimi Khalvati and Catherine Smith. Mimi K. is one of my favorite poets, and she is incredibly charismatic on stage. Catherine Smith is also very good.
