Probably a load of rubbish but i thought i would give another story a go thoughts appreciated thanks Tom...
Jack sipped slowly at his water bottle in the effort to keep himself cool from the unbearable heat penetrating his skin, Causing him to perspire much more than normal. Piercing blue eyes and un-mistakable chiselled face features and a short crop of brown hair to complement his looks, An average looking chap although his fashion sense was not exactly up to speed. Jack’s life was his work and his dedication had earned him the reputation of one of the most respected scientists in the world second to none within his field. Jack had also wrote books on diseases and how the environment changes have had an impact on the animal world, Passionate and articulate in all his work regarding research and development into the decline of seasonal changes caused by global warming some of his findings and projected theories were met with some back seat scepticism even though his theories were interesting to say the least, Their was still a strong shadow of doubt over casting Jacks suggestions within the world of meteorology.
Working full time as a professor in university, based in the states Jack was sat at his desk after just having a class going through a pile of paper work to be marked and graded, Sighing and leaning back on his chair he slowly removed his reading glasses and placed them onto the desk. “Your looking tired Jack old boy” a voice cried out from the entrance door “I’m fine” Jack replied it was the voice of Victor Jacks boss the head of the facility. “Listen Jack I have been meaning to have a word with you for a couple of weeks now”. “what about Victor?” “I want you to take a couple of months out call it a rest bite you have leave owing to you from last year you need a break Jack” Jack thought about it for a couple of minutes pausing before he replied Victor was like a father to Jack and he was very much respected, “Okay but I have work to mark” Victor answered “Finish your marking and have a nice break Jack you have my number, Enjoy yourself in London Jack” Jack stared mouth wide open astonished “ I hate it when you do that read my mind, Ok Victor ring you when I’m ready to come back” Finishing off his marking Jack hit the lights and made his way back to gather some belongings for his journey. Jack waited for his cab to take him to the airport he was to catch the 9.00pm flight direct to London, His home town back to his cockney roots for a moment he reflected back on the times he played in the street throwing the ball playing Kerby what a game that was, The smell of the street and the drains aroma triggering more memories of his late mother calling his name for tea “come on Jack love teas ready” a voice of an angel which he was never to forget, Cancer was to take his mum and leave him all alone in life Jacks mother was his whole world and after her passing Jack was to channel all his grief into his work earning him an exemplary reputation he has today. “Taxi hey you awake?”
Jack snapped out of his day dream “ yes taxi airport please”..
During most of the flight he tried to sleep but his mind was to fixated on his arrival, Arriving in London Jack made his way from the airport flagging a Taxi down to take a half hour trip to house that his mother passed down to him in the will. “Drop me here if you possibly could please” Jack opted to exit the taxi to take the five minute walk up the half mile long street as straight as a road not one bend or turning just straight solid, Paying the taxi fee he gathered his one bag placed it over his shoulder and started his walk the heat was un-bearable hear also empty bottles of water echoed in the night street cluttering down slowly being uttered on by the odd car that went past. He loved it here this was home to him no where else really mattered. Reaching down he retrieved the key from his bag and opened the door showing some resistance due to the mountain of mail that was on the mat, Ploughing his way through he turned the lights on there was no need for heat the house seemed warm enough in-fact warm enough to justify opening the odd window or two in the bedroom. 1.00 am Jack retired to his bedroom and lay on the bed slightly jet lagged. Disturbed and unsettled the clock posed 4.00 am the heat was so humid , The air dry, so un-comfortable, With windows open the heat was still intolerable, Rising from his bed Jack found his way in almost sleepy trance and his vision effected by the constant drips of sweat wiping the salty taste from his eyes as well as his mouth opening the fridge he remained stood by the fridge relieved from the cold air it was offering, Grabbing a cold refreshment he gulped to ease the thirsty quench. Closing the fridge Jack made his way to situate himself near a window in the hope of some draughty relief, Yawning and wiping himself down with a towel he flicked the switch to catch up on some British headlines. Turning up the television the headlines all focused on the same topic the weather and pictures from all around the globe were to capture and startle him and immediately demand all of his attention, Echoing from the television were reports of tempters set to rise even more.
Jack ran around the house like a mad man trying to locate his laptop repeating the words “surely not, surely not can’t be?” Locating his laptop he logged on and punched in the relevant math his fingers moving like lightning and becoming irritated by the constant sweat on his hands and forehead uttering to himself “Come on Jack get a grip, Surely can’t be can it?” Coming to a sudden stop Jacks laptop screen read complying programmed possible scenario rising from his seat wiping himself yet again he sipped some more water trying to cool down Jack had been monitoring the weather for the last 18 months now and relaying his findings to a colleague over in London for sometime now “I must contact Jodie fax her to inform her” The computer sounded a beep complimented by a message confirming scenario complete the information Jack had fed into the computer was to project a virtual possible prediction for the near future, Hitting enter to view the outcome Jack read and watched with horror what was being revealed in front of him would change the future and outcome of the whole planet changing the world as we know it.
Jodie was also a well respected professor in the same field as Jack only Jodie focused more on the global warming environment and the effect it had on animals, Change in climate and how it altered animals behavioural patterns as in hibernation and temperament, She was questioning the animal chain as far down as insects and pollination.
